Everything You Need To Know About Oak Grove Regional Park

If you’ve ever visited the western side of Spanos Park in Stockton, we’re confident that your eyes have already fallen on none other than the enchanting oak forest that lays ahead. Within the park, there are several amenities that offer its visitors the opportunity to create beautiful memories while having a blast. So, read on as we dive into everything that you need to know about Oak Grove Regional Park.

One of the most prominent features of the regional park is Oak Groves Lake. The lake spans a whopping 10 acres and is generally stocked with a couple of seasonal fish that include both Trout and Catfish. If you’re planning to visit and fish, you’ll need a fishing license for those aged 16 and older. The calm lake waters allow visitors to enjoy rented aqua cycles and paddleboats which are only available on weekends during the months of April to October.

The park also features a state-of-the-art nature center better known as the Oak Grove Nature Center. The center creates the perfect setting for both young and old to participate in educational programs as well as flora and fauna exhibits. By visiting the nature center, you’ll be able to learn about all of the plants and small animals that reside within the park, San Joaquin Valley, and even in San Joaquin County. However, the center is only open on weekends between the hours of 12 pm to 4 pm.

If you’re thinking about hiking, you’re in for a treat with two nature trails. The first allows a 1.5-mile walk into the woods while the other is a 1/4 mile handicapped trail. In Oak Grove Regional Park, there’s something for everyone to do.

Additionally, there are several rental facilities that include outdoor shelters which are perfect for picnics and even an indoor boating house. If you’re interested in golfing, you can even enjoy a game or two on the 18-hole disc course. Oak Grove Regional Park also boasts a pretty neat camping ground that is dedicated to youth group camping only and playgrounds for the younger ones.

As we conclude, we have just looked at everything you need to know about Oak Grove Regional Park. However, if you’re visiting on special holidays, you’ll need to check beforehand to ensure that the activities you require are available. At the regional park, your family and friends will be able to enjoy fishing, picnicking, camping, and much more!
